The eLogoContest Contest Holder Guidelines

As a contest holder here on eLogoContest you do have certain responsibilities. Please read through the guidelines below and the general community guidelines as well.
1.
No objectionable content

Please do not post a contest that contains any of the following: anything that may be: construed as obscene, pornographic, illegal or offensive in any way. Please do not run a contest if your company is based on a service or product that may be considered obscene, pornographic, illegal or offensive.
2.
One completed design per contest

You get one (1) completed design per contest. If you need different versions of the completed design (black and white, different tag lines etc...) you can hire the winning designer to do it after the contest is over (you get their contact details with the completed logo).
If you need a logo designed for more than one company, or need more than one logo for the same company you would need to run more than one contest.

3.
If you don't pay for it you can't use it

The only design that you can use from your contest is the one that you select as a winner, and that one only after you have paid the prize and the designer has delivered the completed logo. All of the designs that you do not select remain the sole property of the submitting designer.
4.
Provide feedback for everyone

The majority of the designers that submit entries to your contest (in fact, all but one) will not receive anything more for their work than the comments that you leave them for their designs. Please let each and every designer know what you think about their entries and rate each one.
5.
Be very, very polite

Everybody here works very hard, even if you think a submitted entry is the most disgusting thing you have ever seen in your life there is still a good chance that someone took quite a bit of time on it so politely tell them why you don't like it. There is never any reason to be rude.
6.
Not picking a winner is not cool

Even though you technically don't have to pick a winner for your contest if none of the designs meet your expectations, we strongly recommend that you do. The prize amount versus the amount of work that is done per contest is very reasonable, and by selecting a winner and paying the prize for your contest you are showing your appreciation for all of the hard work that has been done for you.
7.
Consider prepaying your contest prize

When you prepay the prize for your contest, you are paying the prize money upfront with no option for a refund, which means that we can tell the designers that there is a guaranteed prize for the contest, and that a winner will definitely be selected. This can lead to a huge increase in the number of designs submitted to a contest and the quality of the designs. This option will be made available to you once you have started your contest.
8.
Do your research

eLogoContest is the middleman in your logo contest, and we make no claims whatsoever as to the originality of any of the designs that are submitted. You should do a fair amount of research and consult with a trademark attorney before using any design in trade or business. This applies to any design firm and not just the designers here at eLogoContest. As your grandma used to say "better safe than sorry".
8.
Be as detailed as possible
Providing as much information as you can about what you are looking for is always best. When you fill out the Design Brief be sure to provide as much information as possible about what you are looking for. When providing feedback to the designers be as specific as possible about what you like and don't like.
